As Demco’s Copywriter, your responsibilities will include:
Creating innovative product and benefit copy for a variety of mediums, including catalog and web, emails, banner ads, sales collateral, social posts, blog posts, and video scripts, in support of Demco’s marketing strategies and objectives
Working with functional areas to create benefit-driven copy, clarify requests, and keep projects moving forward within scheduled deadlines
Developing compelling, high-quality copy under tight deadlines that clearly communicates Demco’s product offerings, positions Demco as an industry leader, and supports all brand segments and channels
Ensuring client objectives are being met while producing inspiring concepts
Proofreading content and editing as appropriate based on copy standards and guidelines
Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of catalog, web, retail, and social media writing conventions
Exceptional writing skills and demonstrated ability to write accurately, clearly, and persuasively; engage the reader; and produce on-brand marketing copy
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining close communication with clients
Ability to deliver a range of concepts to be created for each project, field questions about the creative concept, assimilate feedback, and then work to deliver a strategically sound final piece
A thorough understanding of grammar, punctuation, and proofreading symbols and knowledge of SEO best practices
Self-motivation, a sound work ethic, a positive attitude, and a desire to have fun at work
In addition to a 4-year degree in English, communications, or marketing, the ideal candidate will have 1 to 2 years of experience in direct-mail and web copywriting in support of product merchandising.
Candidates with prior experience in library or educational products or environments are encouraged to apply. Interviewees will be asked to share portfolios with examples of creative integrated marketing communication work.
